Assistant Professor - Quantitative Psychology
The Davidson College Psychology Department invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in quantitative psychology, beginning July 1, 2019. Regular teaching load is 5 courses over 2 semesters, with 4 courses in the first year. We seek a psychological scientist with advanced statistical training who will teach introductory and advanced courses in statistics, and involve undergraduates in research. This person will also contribute to our psychology curriculum with courses such as a topical survey course, research-methodology course, and/or an advanced seminar in a research specialty area (e.g., human health, industrial organizational [I-O]). The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of quantitative sophistication as evidenced by a publication record addressing methodological issues, teaching advanced statistical topics, the application of data science techniques (e.g., big data analytics), or similar experiences. PhD by July 2019. The successful candidate will be expected to develop an active research program capable of attracting external funding and producing peer-reviewed publications with undergraduate co-authors. Start-up funds and dedicated research space are available. Strongest consideration will be given to candidates who can interface with other departments and programs on campus, such as data science, digital studies, health and human values, educational studies, gender and sexuality studies, sociology, or economics.
