Seeking Nominations for Editorship of the Journal of Experimental Psychology: General
We are currently seeking to fill the position of editor of the Journal of Experimental Psychology: General for a term of 6½ years, to begin in January of 2022. We are looking for candidates who best meet the criteria for editor of an APA journal, which include scientific and scholarly excellence in the person's own contributions as well as evidence of a broad intellectual perspective, good judgment, exceptional communication skills, and management skills appropriate to an editor, including prior editorial service (e.g., as an Associate Editor). We are also looking for a person who will attend to issues of diversity. We very much hope that you will help us by suggesting candidates for this important position or, if you feel your qualifications are in line with the criteria we have described here, that you will apply.
To nominate candidates yourself, or direct them (self-nominations are also welcome) please register or log in to https://editorsearch.apa.org/. Please note that you will need to register on the site before you are allowed access for the first time. Nominees will be contacted with instructions for submitting their CV. The deadline for submitting nominations is January 11, 2021.
If interested, please contact Jennifer Chase at [email protected] for a description of an APA journal editor's activities and how APA supports editors, including the establishment of an editorial office, staff support, budget, and honoraria. This support is viewed as generous in the scientific publishing field. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at the address listed below.
Sincerely,
Richard Petty, PhD
