Society for Computation in Linguistics (SCiL) Final Call

We're writing to distribute the final call for papers for SCiL 2019, to be held in New York City and Paris January 3-6. Details are available at the SCiL website:

The invited speakers are Gaja Jarosz (University of Massachusetts Amherst) and Mark Johnson (Macquarie University).

We are also now soliciting expressions of interest from potential organizers for SCiL 2020, to be held in conjunction with the LSA in New Orleans, and also from anyone interested in organizing a second site. At the business meeting at SCiL 2019, we will have a discussion of whether to continue with co-location with the LSA, choose organizers for 2021, and we will also establish a more formal organizational structure for the society. Getting 2020 set up now rather than at that business meeting will give the organizers enough time to plan, especially for securing funding. We very much hope that there will be interest in taking this on.
