Tenure-track assistant professor - The Davidson College Psychology Department

The Davidson College Psychology Department invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in developmental psychology, beginning July 1, 2020. We seek a psychological scientist who will involve undergraduates in research and teach courses such as general psychology, a topical survey course (e.g., child development, educational psychology), a research-methodology course, and an advanced seminar in a specialty area (e.g., literacy, gender development). The regular teaching load is five courses over two semesters (four courses in the first year). The successful candidate will be expected to develop a research program capable of attracting external funding and producing peer-reviewed publications with undergraduate co-authors. Preference will be given to candidates who have publication records addressing developmental psychology, teaching developmental psychology, and/or similar experiences. We are especially interested in candidates with demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion in their professional work. Strongest consideration will be given to candidates who can interface with other departments and programs, such as Educational Studies, Gender and Sexuality Studies, Sociology, Data Science, and/or Health and Human Values. PhD by July 2020 is required.
