Tenure-track assistant professor position in aging and health – Rice University

Applications are invited for a tenure-track assistant professor position in aging and health, specifically with respect to the cognitive and affective aspects of aging and their neural basis. The research foci might include, but are not limited to, aging and memory, aging and executive attention, cognitive decline and emotional health, interventions for age-related changes in cognition and affect, and the relation of cognitive and affective changes to physical health. The successful candidate would join the Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience area in the Department of Psychological Sciences at Rice University.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in psychology or a related field, with a background in cognitive or affective neuroscience. Assistant Professors are expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses and perform research in their specialized area. Therefore, the ideal candidate will hold promise for a national/international reputation in research on aging and its neural basis; an outstanding record of publications; evidence or promise of external grant funding; excellence in teaching undergraduate and graduate students; and the ability to contribute to a university focused on enhancing diversity.
