WICS Travel Award to present your research at the 2012 Annual Meeting of the Psychonomic Society, Minneapolis, November 15-18, 2012
Presenting at professional meetings such as the Annual Meeting of the Psychonomic Society is an important way for individuals to become known in the professional community and to develop collaborative relationships with other professionals in the field. Given the relatively short time frame of the tenure period, it is essential that individuals begin to appear at professional meetings early in their careers. Therefore, the purpose of this award is to provide funds for graduate students, postdocs, and assistant professors to participate in the 2012 Meeting of the Psychonomic Society, Minneapolis, November 15-18, 2012.
Amount and number of awards – Up to six awards of $1000 each for graduate students and postdocs and up to four awards of $1000 each for assistant professors.
Submission Criteria: 1. Women scientists in graduate and postdoctoral positions who are presenting talks or posters at the 2012 Meeting of the Psychonomic Society.
Provide evidence of an accepted presentation or poster and a network plan – A 2-page, single-spaced, 12-point font summary of a networking plan and its relevance to the applicant's research program. Identify one or two target senior scientists to network with, describe specific goals to be accomplished with targeted scientist/s (e.g., develop a collaboration, exchange research ideas, receive input on experiments, a grant proposal, or a manuscript).

Although only female scientists are eligible for this award, the targeted senior scientist/s as described under 2. can be either female or male.
This NSF funding is limited to U.S. citizens and permanent residents.

Winners are required: To submit a report on the meeting and networking experience. The award must be used for the 2012 Meeting of the Psychonomic Society in Minneapolis. Deadline for submitting the final report: December 20, 2012
