Alesha D. Bond is the Nancy Akers and J.Mason Wallace Assistant Professor in Psychology at Davidson College. Her main line of research investigates the cognitive underpinnings (i.e., working memory, attention, perception) of biased decision-making related to race and facial recognition/categorization in the context of the psychology of law-based decisions (e.g., jury decision-making, eye-witness testimony). More recently, my research has expanded to also include many of these same principles as it relates to gender, the intersection between gender and race, and gender-based violence. My teaching philosophy centers around developing critical thinking skills and real-world application of course content.
