Kate Arrington, WiCS Chair, is a professor in the Psychology Department and Cognitive Science Program at Lehigh University. She serves as associate director for the Institute on Data, Intelligent Systems, and Computation. Her research examines the attention and cognitive control processes underlying human multitasking in the laboratory and in life. Multitasking requires a balance between flexibility and stability in cognitive control. Her lab considers how these modes of control shift over time in complex environments such as STEM research and learning.
